Black Friday discounts for Macs, iPads offered in Australia and New Zeeland

Confirming earlier tips, Black Friday deals have been started in Apple Australia and New Zeeland. Both countries are offering holiday discounts for all iPads, the iPod touch and iPod nano, with the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac available at lower prices as well, while iPod classic, iPod shuffle, Mac Pro, Mac mini and Apple TV remain uncovered, as in recent years.
Although prices for the products can’t be compared directly, the company’s local stores largely hint at discount sized in the US. Ranging from $45 AUD to $65, iPad 2 discounts are a little off from the $41 US to $61 rumoured. iPod touch and iPod nano discounts are $21 AUD and $11 AUD each, both of which should translate more exactly. Discounts for Macs are $121 AUD, which is considerably up from the $101 expected for the US.

Australia-based retail locations are also offering discounts for accessories, including $11 AUD off of the iPad 2 Smart Covers, Magic Trackpad and Wireless Keyboard and $21 AUD off of the 2TB Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme. A $5 AUD discount is also provided for iTunes gift cards. Third-party accessories go on sale at the largest discounts, with iOS and Mac cases, certain headphones and Mac software losing on average $32 to $52 AUD. Bowers & Wilkins’ Zeppelin Air wireless speaker dock is also $202 AUD off.

As practiced by Apple, the Black Friday discounts will be switched when the clock in the eastern part of a given country strikes midnight. The holiday sale will traditionally last only for the 24 hours.
